IMDb
Jessy is an experienced film editor for documentaries, commercials, PSAs and live events.
She has edited multiple documentaries highlighting statewide policies and initiatives in Colorado in the areas of arts, culture, small business, and the economy, in collaboration with Ajar Film Productions and the Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media. Her films have reached national and international audiences through platforms like Rocky Mountain PBS and film festivals. Jessica edited Fábrica de Arte Américas (2023), which was recently selected from hundreds of submissions for the 30th San Antonio Film Festival in Texas, where it won Best Documentary Short.
Jessy has edited film projects for nonprofit organizations, such as a short documentary for El Sistema Colorado, which provides accessible music education to children. She has also created videos for Colorado Humanities for Black History Month and the Colorado Book Awards. These projects reflect her commitment to using filmmaking to support causes she believes in and amplify voices that are often unheard.
As a child, she was a singer in the National Children's Choir of Cuba for six years, an organization that supports underserved communities and promotes social justice through its performances. Being in the choir allowed her to interact with instructors and children from around the world, facilitating cultural exchanges that broadened her global perspective. The choir performed for children affected by Chernobyl and those separated from their parents during the “Peter Pan” operation. They also collaborated with international artists Grammy Award-winning musicians X Alfonso, Juanes, and Olga Tañón in Paz sin Fronteras, a concert promoting peace to an audience of over 1.2 million people. These experiences shaped who she is today and showed her the power of art to bring people together.
