Pablo A Perez

Pablo is a professional cinematographer, FAA-certified drone pilot, and instructor of cinematography and documentary production at the University of Colorado Denver.

​

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned directors from Cuba and beyond, including Alejandro Perez, Alfredo Ureta, Manuel Herrera, and Ernesto Daranas. With over 14 years of experience, Pablo has worked on documentaries, feature films, commercials, and music videos. His cinematography has earned national and international recognition.

As one of the founders of Ajar Film Productions, Pablo has served as a cinematographer on numerous documentaries covering the arts, healthcare, the prison system, and other social issues, some of which have premiered on Rocky Mountain PBS and screened at top film festivals. His film "Fábrica de Arte Américas" (2023) won Best Documentary at the prestigious San Antonio Film Festival, while his film noir "The Implausible" (2021) received a Silver Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, was nominated for Best First-Time Filmmaker at Cannes Shorts, and was a finalist for Best Cinematography at the New York Istanbul Short Film Festival.​

Through the power of his lens, Pablo has collaborated with nonprofit organizations in the Denver Metro Area, as well as the Office of Economic Development and International Trade of the State of Colorado.

​

As an educator, he has mentored film students on professional film sets across multiple documentary projects and international trips.

​

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Financial Management and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological University of Havana.
